Out of the Shadows - The Weeknd emerges (Live)

Anonymity is a word used synonymously with The Weeknd since the House Of Balloons mixtape dropped to such acclaim at the turn of the year, yet over the past month a series of videos have surfaced featuring the man himself suggesting the mystery may now be over and he may now be ready to go public with his work.

It was back in April when a low key Radio station (associated with his own University of Toronto) uploaded a home-made, dimly shot video which everyone assumed to be The Weeknd himself, but of course no one ever clarified whether this was a genuine or just another impersonater...

After the success of Drake's introductory OVO Fest in Toronto last July, The R&B crooner has been confirmed as one of the headliners for the show and elected to test the waters at Toronto's MOD Club with a sell-out show that finally gave expectant fans a live taster of the mans abilities. The atmosphere was said to have matched the turn out with The Weeknd effortlessly nailing each song in a manner way beyond his experience. Needless to say What You Need set the place alight.
Hopefully we'll see some interviews with the 21 year old (aka Abel Tesfaye) very soon.

SBTRKT Feat. Drake - Wildfire (LIVE)

So with an appearance at Glastonbury's Worthy Farm and barely two weeks after the hugely acclaimed release of the self-titled debut album, electronic fad of the moment SBTRKT shows no signs of slowing down having just embarked on a three day stint across the pond and low & behold, the masked showman pulled out all the stops for the visit to Toronto.

The ridiculously infectious Wildfire refix has been doing the round for just over three months now, but as yet we have yet to see Drake unite with the curator himself for a live PA, so when the (barely masked, it should be noted) producer announced Drizzy's arrival it was a shocker for many.

Toronto's Wrongbar is regularly hailed by many as an exceptional Toronto nightspot, and the only downside was that Little Dragon's own Yukimi Nagano wasnt on hand to deliver those vocals. Maybe that would be asking a bit much?

Make sure to get that hawk-eye on from 4:50 onwards, two excitable females end up getting the harsh treatment!

SBTRKT will be next performing on UK shores at Global Gathering on the 29th July.
