[EVENT] Trouble Vision: Carnival Warm Up with Gilles Peterson, Andrés, T.Williams, Breach & More
We have always sung our praises here at AbouttoBlow for
‘Trouble Vision’ at Corsica Studios. A night consistently responsible for
bringing the best in legendary and up and coming DJ’s and artists worldwide to
the heart of Elephant and Castle. If you’ve yet to experience it for yourself,
it simply boasts a sky-high level of great DJ’s, whereby attendees can be
promised an eclectic delivery in music unlike any other competitors around.
Helping it to keep its distinction from its competitors is the night’s ability
to draw in mixed crowds, just up for a good time mixed with good music.
What’s more Trouble
Vision have just announced the line-up for their Carnival Warm Up Party on the 24th August and it huge to
say the least. Headliners are one Gilles Petersen and very special guest
Dez Andres. We are aware that the former
will need no formal introduction but some of you may have not heard of Andres
the current crown prince of Detroit house and one time live DJ for Slum
Village.
After a slew of seminal releases on Mahogani he has just put
out his first release on his own label La Vida records with the lead track ‘New 4 U’ causing a stir amongst the dance community all over the world. One way to describe his sound is Dilla-esque House, expertly manipulated samples intricately laced over
irresistibly compelling house beats. The record has elicited embarrassingly
complimentary reviews and its ubiquitous popularity still warrants it at least
one spin a week at the Panorama Bar. Expect the sort of track selection that
will literally please everyone from hip hop heads to tech house nuts. This one
is not to be missed.
Also gracing the night is an AboutToBlow favourite BrEaCh.
Collectively we can boast about seeing a lot of DJ’s from
behind the turntables, yet Not many DJ’s leave us in awe as much as Ben has on
many occasion. He makes DJing look like a second nature, with an unmatchable
track selection of exclusive material and a sheer confidence behind the wheels
or steel or mic for that matter.
You would be mad to miss out on his event, with
home-grown talent, The godfather of forward thinking music for the past 15
years and also as international guest get down to this and prepare for a
vibrant end of summer and carnival good time vibes.
