ATB Recommends: Global Gathering
Although we havent quite had the weather to match (or depending how you look at it, it's been pretty routine for a UK summer) with us now into July the Festival season is officially in full swing, and judging by the crop we've already experienced, its been a pretty start to proceedings thus far.
Whether you were a part of the Skream stage invasion gang over at Lovebox Weekender, or a rain-drenched witness to the unrivalled Jay-Z experience of Hackney Weekend there's been a shed-load of highlights to already salivate over. Ohh and for purposes of sheer jealousy we wont even touch on the Hideout & Sonar's of oversees, we're restricting this strictly to the unpredictable depths of the Great British countryside.
To celebrate the shedload of quality weekenders available this 'summer', we're looking ahead to the one that arguably stole it for us last year, which was no mean feat considering the wealth of competition out there in a increasingly saturated dance market.
Expertly spanning the entire spectrum of electronic music with musicians, DJs and
performers entertaining up to 50,000 revellers over the course of the weekend, the twelfth anniversary of Global Gathering is again confirmed for Friday 27th
& Saturday 28th July 2012 which again will be held at Long Marston Airfield, near Stratford
on Avon, Warwickshire.
It's a suitably massive bill headlined by Tinie Tempah and Chase &
Status over the two days, with underground sounds this year represented by the likes of Visionquest, Hospitality, Digital Soundboy, UKF Bass Culture and London underground dance station Rinse FM.
Building on the sold-out success of last year, one aspect you can rely on Global Gathering providing is the explosive energy that comes off each and every stage, which is largely down to its diversity across each arena.
One Arena to keep your eye on for this year is the EC-LECTRICITY PRESENTS stage, with acts confirmed including;
- James Zabiela
- Redlight
- Hessle Audio (Pearson Sound, Ben UFO, Pangaea)
- Disclosure
- Breakage
- Mosca
- Jackmaster
- Roses Gabor (Live)
- Rockwell
- George Fitzgerald
They will be joined over the weekend by Friendly Fires, Maverick Sabre, Labrinth, Knife Party, Zane Lowe, Jaguar
Skills, Andy C: Alive, Nero, Sub Focus, Modestep, Flux Pavilion, Shy FX
& Stamina, Magnetic Man, Boy Better Know Feat. Skepta, Ms Dynamite,
Above and Beyond, Gareth Emery, Ferry Corsten, John O'Callaghan,
Visionquest (Seth Troxler, Shaun Reeves, Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson),
Annie Mac, Steve Aoki, Fake Blood, Jack Beats (DJ set), Totally Enormous
Extinct Dinosaurs, Jamie Jones, Joris Voorn b2b Nic Fanciulli, Netsky,
High Contrast feat Jessy Allen & Dynamite MC, Camo & Krooked and more.
General admission weekend tickets are priced at £105, and £180 for Weekend VIP Admission, with day tickets priced at £65.
