NYE Rave of Choice: Urban Nerds Warehouse Party
So the turn of the year and some of the mosty important decisions in the raving calender are vast approaching. In London theres in infinate, enviable choice of parties to skank out to, but for us the Urban Nerds have pulled out all the stops this New Year’s Eve.
Having already announced some of the year’s biggest bass, they keep the ball rolling, announcing more acts and a host for Room 3. It’s a jaw-dropping lineup, with the likes of Eliphino, Throwing Snow, Lorca, Seb Wildblood, Apes, Mak & Pasteman and Rumah, plus a big set from Scott Garcia b2b Sticky. Urban Nerds’s own Marcus Nasty and Rattus Rattus join the party, while Leon Vynehall & A1 Bassline present Laszlo Dancehall, and Redlight, Bondax, Breach and Dark Sky go big! And there’s still more to be announced, as Urban Nerds bring together a cross-section of underground sounds to craft a 360 degree journey through UK bass and its modern house and 4×4 counterparts.
Urban Nerds join forces with Essex promoters and music heads Kool Kids Klub, Camberwell’s ballsy upfront promoter Church, and THEM, cutting-edge bass buffs. It’s going to be the ultimate NYE party!
Redlight’s jet-propelled bangers that stretch house, bass, garage and beyond make him a massive addition to the Urban Nerds NYE lineup. Kicking it back to the ’90s with their seriously garage-infused production, duo Bondax create an eargasm of delight, blending sexy vocals with chopped-up beats, exposing the sweeter side of bass. A name synonymous with the UK funky scene, Marcus Nasty looks set to tear things up with a big set. And Leon Vynehall & A1 Bassline debut their latest Laszlo Dancehall project.
Cutting up some of the sickest beats and sounds of the summer, Breach – Ben Westbeech’s alter ego – is not only a skilled producer, but his talent for track selection will also have ravers’ feet firmly planted to the floor this NYE. The grimey, bassy, batty shaking sounds of Dark Sky will have the ground pumping as hard as the speakers. Tom, Matt and Carlo make up this production machine, whose genuine love for what they do can be felt through their inspired DJ sets that crack garage, house, drum’n’bass and hip hop into an experimental, multi-textured music experience.
Throwing Snow has had a cracking year, his house, bass and hip hop-tinged production winning fans across the dancefloor. In-demand DJ, producer and remixer Eliphino beefs up the UK bass credentials, and Lorca caps a great year, bringing his love of forward-thinking two-step on a vocal tip to the party.
The Venue
For New Year’s Eve Urban Nerds always pull together their biggest party of the year. Nerds NYE is known for taking over daring and unusual spaces and bringing together cracking lineups, and this year the celebration arrives at The Sidings Warehouse in London Bridge, a four-arched tunnel that will host three rooms of sound and offers unique sound and lighting capabilities – as well as the comfort of proper bars and real toilets.
Hailing from Southend-on-Sea, Kool Kids Klub go head-to-head with Urban Nerds for a special versus lineup in Arch 1.
Hailing from Southend-on-Sea, Kool Kids Klub go head-to-head with Urban Nerds for a special versus lineup in Arch 1.
Having hosted Joy Orbison, Julio Bashmore, Mosca, MJ Cole and Toddla T, they’re ready to make a noise. Originating in the basement of a Church in Camberwell, Church has gone from strength to strength, hosting Marcellus Pittman, Juan Atkins, Boddika, Objekt, Mark Henning, Koreless, Pariah and Midland. Church takes over Arch 2. THEM London started
in 2008 with an ever-evolving policy for bass music parties. Past guests include Little Dragon, SBTRKT, Rusko, Zed Bias, Pangaea, Plastician, Loefah, Breakage and Boxcutter. The lineup for their Arch 3 is still to come, but expect big things.

With a relentless stream of too good to be true acts it’s hard to believe, there’s still more to uncover from the Urban Nerds lab, simmering away, and planning their best NYE party yet. Nerds style is the only way to see in the New Year – a bassladen party coming in full force with some of the biggest beat connoisseurs of the moment. Make sure you’re a part of it!
