We love music that’s impossible to box, something that hints at some of our favourite genres, but ebbs and flows between styles incorporating the best of all worlds.
That’s exactly what you get with Peckham’s latest prodigy Aadae. Born in Nigeria, but raised south of the river, her music beautifully captures the sound of her childhood and her musical influences along Rye Lane. It’s a fresh songwriting approach that’s beginning to bear fruit. In the past week, the track has been featured by The Independent, The Fader, The Line of Best Fit & Complex. Her previous singles have also attracted fans at radio including Lauren Laverne & John Hillcock at 6Music.
“Just Found Out” is an exceptional piece of work from a true creative. A perfect juxtaposition of organic and electronic production, with influences that span way beyond the M25.
“At the time I was working on this song, there was a lot going on in my personal life and it felt like the world was slipping from my hands and I didn’t even see it coming. I needed an outlet to express a situation that weighed heavy on my heart. I wanted this song to be the reminiscent of the pre house/early house era. I wanted to make something that would help me dance away my pain”
