Alice Kristiansen, is a bastian of smart, modern pop music with a soulful twist.
Known for a cover she recorded of Ashton Kutcher, no less, she has since amassed a 600k following on her youtube channel. Since then, she’s moved things forward to her own project with support from New Music Friday playlists worldwide.
It’s looking a lot like a meteoric rise for the NYC based songwriter. The new single ‘Weightless’, compounds the most compelling traits of the “Sad Pop” movement, with flavours of Lykke Li and Banks apparent in her music – and soon enough she will be a household name as they are.
“The song was inspired by my youth in suburbia and the magic that surrounded cool summer evenings with nothing to do. Life seems to get heavier, and a bit darker, but there are still nights where fifteen doesn’t feel so far away for a little while.”
