MTV Trax, one of the fastest-growing music streaming apps, has today announced that it’s now accepting Sweatcoin, the app which converts movement into digital currency, as payment for its first month of the monthly music subscription service.
With SweatCoin being one of the most exciting health and exercise apps at launch in May, garnering press across the board for effectively remunerating exercise, its new collaboration with one of the biggest music networks in the world shows how seriously the app is being taken in terms of mainstream potential.
Furthermore, the collaboration interestingly could also point the way to a future of synchronicity between mutually-beneficial apps. Sweatcoin was launched in May and has become an instant hit, taking the #1 Spot in the UK Apple store for finance. It converts users’ outdoor steps into currency, at a rate of roughly 1000 steps to 1 Sweatcoin, which can then be used to purchase a range of items including shoes, clothes, gadgets and now music.
Users will earn an initial 30 days’ subscription to MTV Trax for taking approximately 2 days’ worth of steps, making it a win-win for both music lovers and those that want to get fit.
“Music has long been thought of as a catalyst for physical performance, it’s why athletes often use music before major events. We now know it has a correlation or net positive effect on an individual’s physical output.”

Be sure to grab that when it comes out – great idea!
