We love it when we hear a traditional genre brought back to life with contemporary production. That’s exactly what Nico Cara strives for in his outstanding projects.
Leveraging his influences from jazz, R&B, and neo-soul, Nico’s latest single addresses an internal conflict and how the presence of love soothes his aggression and helps him maintain a level head. The twenty-two-year old’s track is arguably one that reflects the struggles of many early twenty-year-olds in the process of finding purpose. Grounded is a self-aware love song that has resonated amongst Nico’s vibrant Brighton community during recent live performances; the engaging hooks and melodies aided by the harmonies of backing vocalists creates a unique live atmosphere that triggers a shy two-step from everybody in the room.
It’s an outstanding piece of Neo-Soul and contemporary jazz that leans on a number of stunning influences.
Speaking on the motivation behind Grounded, Nico Cara explains:
“Recording this single has been a new experience for me, trying out a lot of new sounds and instruments to get a solid R&B vibe. I think I’ve taken a lot of different influences and made something that encompasses me as a musician at this time.”
