The East London producer shares an airy, sun-drenched new single..
By day, FNP spends his time managing & promoting artists in the mainstream space but has always harbored a passion for electronic music. Years were spent creating and playing out drum and bass, supporting the likes of Netsky, Newham Generals & S.P.Y, Before some experimentation took him down the path to curating 4×4 tracks.
It’s been a fruitful experimentation. The new production style has been picked up by Thump, Clash Magazine & Complex in the last year and has also been championed by Ross From Friends & Avalon Emerson.. On ‘Somewhere South’, FNP States..
“It’s kinda two tracks that somehow became one really. I wrote the acid bassline as an idea for something much heavier and then on one of my rare, bright moments, decided it could work with a piano structure I’d written. Chuffed with how it came out though, quite light and summery, but also with some tricky production stuff for the heads.”
