When you think of European festivals, Croatia, Portugal and Spain probably spring to mind… But what about Albania? Last year saw the inaugural edition of Kala Festival, an open-air celebration of dance music set in the undiscovered paradise of the Albanian Riviera.
Reachable only by boat, crystal clear waters and incredible scenery set the backdrop for seven days of seamlessly blended dance music, paradise and well-being activities. Intrepid festival goers have unlimited access to beaches, natural canyons and hiking trails and can lose themselves in the untouched, free-spirited surroundings, dancing until the sun comes up. Yoga, gong baths, boat excursions and paragliding complement the eclectic, inclusive and carefully curated line up.
Continuing on from where they left off last year, the 2019 edition includes live performances from the likes of Inner City and Jordan Rakei as well as extended 5h sets from Hunee, Derrick May, Theo Parrish, Midland and Job Jobse. In addition to these, industry favourites such as Honey Dijon, Call Super, Sassy J, Jane Fitz and Josey Rebelle join the line up. Besides the more well established acts, Kala offers prime slots to unsung acts such as The Menendez Brothers, Peach and CC:Disco.
