Over the years club nights have succesfully blossomed and of course some have come and go with a whimper. Like anything in life to achieve notoriety you must be willing to put the work in, like the Fabric’s and the Warehouse Project’s have done, but away from the so-called “high-end” events that everyone knows about there are those other nights that fall into the word-of-mouth category, and Corsica Studios’ Trouble Vision has competently gone about its business absolutely tearing up South-East London like its no ones business.
Labelled as Corsica’s “genre-smashing” in-house club night, it’s around the month of October when the birthday cake comes out, the party poppers surface and the line up starts to get a little ridiculous. Take last years celebrations for example, where DJ Zinc, MJ Cole, Zed Bias, Scuba and SBTRKT all took to the decks and left Corsica nursing a mammoth birthday hangover any club would be proud to endure.
This year however aims to encompass the crafts of a selection of genre-smashing turntablists, with South Bronx’s finest Grandmaster Flash flying over exclusively for the night. Accompanying the scratchmaster will be Magnetic Man’s ARTWORK & MC DRS,
DARK SKY [50 Weapons / Black Acre]
BLAWAN [Hessel Audio]
KRYSTAL KLEAR [Hoya Hoya]
REDHINO [LIVE / Numbers]
OBJEKT [Hessel Audio] and the last ever Silent Disco, a tragedy to say the least.
Tickets for this one are extremely limited and can be nabbed from the Resident Advisor event page for £15. The Venue itself is a 5 minute walk from Elephant & Castle Tube Station.
Happy Birthday Corsica
