Alternative pop artist MALORY has released her first full EP ‘Dystopia’ which includes 2 brand new tracks ‘Cold Vibrations’ and ‘Real Love’. The EP was co-produced with Danny George and the pair have delivered a collection of beautifully constructed tracks, full of charm which draw on influences from folk to electro to anthemic pop. The EP comes off the back of 2 lead tracks ‘Rapture’ and ‘Nuclear Brandy’, both of which set the tone for the bleak futuristic and dystopian theme of the project. Speaking on this Malory explains:
“Oddly enough, I named the EP over a year ago but it seems a scarily fitting title for the current time we live in! I wanted each song to have its own juxtapositions either lyrically or in the playful instrumentation. Every track I imagine as one shade in my ever extending musical rainbow, combining colours dark and light. Of course, inescapably centring on my own experiences of unrequited love, hopeful romance and the possibilities of new relationships. It has been two years in the making but I am so proud of it and excited to share it with the world!”
Her leftfield take on pop has already caused a splash online and at radio, receiving plaudits and support from BBC Introducing, XFM, BBC Radio 2, and Metro and lots more.
