Danny George has been busy over the last 2 years collab-ing and producing for artists such as Ayelle, Malory and Latir, enjoying a decent amount of buzz with each project. With this debut track ‘Close To You’, he’s made the bold move as a solo artist in his own right, taking up vocal duties as well as writing, producing and live instrumentation on the jam – and from the sound of it, the decision is definitely paying off.
‘Close To You’ boasts a Fyfe-esque production, as soulful vocals, piano and strings blend seamlessly with synth sounds. Lyric-wise we see the young artist not afraid to tackle personal issues, tackling a toxic relationship, with neither parties being willing to let go. The opening lines, claiming “If it was up to me, I’d be lying still. If it was up to you, you’d be crying still.”
We’ve been told to expect an EP release later this year and some more singles leading up to it, Danny’s first offering is showing promise of big things to come..
