To bring back those happy memories of child hood once gone, we bring to up and coming Dj’s Crypt (Nottingham) & Rektchordz (Bristol) destroying the darker electronic scene with their radical and (most importantly) comtempary take on modern garage / deep house. Whilst both essentially make heavy duty house music, the subtle nuances between the two allow for an individual listening experience. Monotony within a genre is key way to make sure it burns out early (Dub-step. I’m looking at you!) and is something that modern house music could very much be accused of. When observing Crypt & Rektchordz it’s possible to interpret how each artist is bring their own individual influence to their music.
Crypt – the more famed of the two and (as the name suggests) darker clearly derives a lot of his influence from early rudimentary dubstep & garage and is able to fuse the two flawlessly into a pumping yet somehow melancholic magic carpet ride. The rolling baselines reach through the monitor and into your, soul enveloping you as each tune drags the listener reluctantly into the mind of the artist. Keyword; Screw face.
