It goes without saying that record labels play a significant role in enhancing and affirming the nightclubbing experience. Whilst many labels need time to capably fine-tune their musical output and image, Black Butter has, in five short years, created a legacy that’s seen the label build a global reputation for consistently putting out quality releases and in turn creating that thing so many labels strive for: their own sound and identity.
From the sounds of Rudimental’s all conquering, festival-ready releases to the more bass-focused, underground styles of Woz and Kidnap Kid, you don’t know exactly what you’ll get from a BB release but you know it’ll be good and feel inherently British.
It’s no surprise then that the label has been at the forefront of the UK club scene. With competition at it’s fiercest over recent times it speaks volumes that they continue to sell out parties well in advance despite often keeping the line ups unannounced until the night – a testament to their devoted and ever-growing fanbase.
Undoubtedly a bold marketing ploy, what the label has previously delivered upon is the secret line ups often guarantee a bigger party, and following on from the sold out 5th birthday at Electric Brixton their final London event of 2015 is looking bigger than ever.
Having last night taken over XOYO for the first of two top-secret line-ups, the East London series continues for a final night further down the road at London Fields’ excellent Laundry space tomorrow (Saturday 10th October). Whilst we regrettably cannot reveal who’s playing, what we can assure you is the line up could not be any bigger, with favourite’s from Swamp 81, Rinse FM, 1Xtra, lobster Boy and the best of Black Butter all in tow for undoubtedly high-octane party of epic proportions.
Running from 22:00 till 06:00, the last remaining tickets can be copped via Resident Advisor HERE.
