The UK Hip Hop Riser Premieres a New Visual Exploring His Personal Demons..
Ahead of his new album XIII dropping on May 13th, Bristol’s UK Hip Hop connoisseur TAURRI has shared exclusively his video for ‘Curtains’.
Known as one half of Pupils of The Clock, TAURRI has been involved in the Bristol music scene for a number of years in different guises. With Lazy Eyez, his act Pupils went on to tour the UK headlining festival stages and performing alongside Ghostface Killah to a sold-out crowd. Though as is often the case, he found the highs came hand in hand with the lows and soon found himself battling with issues of mental health and addiction, culminating in a breakdown and one of the most difficult nights of his life.
“Of course, moments like this come as a shock when you’re in a perpetual state of denial, but despite the fairly graphic nature of that weekend I now look back on the experience with a sense of gratitude. May 13th 2018 I was 72 hours into sleep deprivation, searching for a reason to wake up. May 13th 2020 I’m lucky enough to be putting out this album and closing the door on all that. I feel blessed.”
With the new album XIII – TAURRI looks to showcase his healing process and how music can bring spiritual cleansing. Today, we’re exclusively sharing the video for the single ‘Curtains’ which has already had support from the likes of Complex UK. It’s a raw, visceral track that lyrically explores the artists personal struggles.
