A tasteful slice of bliss from two of the best electronic artists out there.
‘Nova’ sees Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet) and the elusive Burial team up yet again. Previous works include the Moth/Wolf Cub 12in and the stunning Mirror/Ego 12in, with additional majesty brought in by Thom Yorke. This latest piece of work is all that we’ve come to expect and more from the two titans.
You can hear both of the artist’s well-established sounds from the beginning. It’s warm and deep with a huge soundscape. The beat and shimmering, incoherent vocals let you know Burial has put his stamp on the track while the chilled, simple keyboard riff that kicks in after 90 seconds is very much Four Tet-esque. Lasting a consummate 5.54 it’s a perfect early morning tube ride track or a late night chiller.
We very much hope that there is more to come from this collaboration as its undeniably got us along with Burial and Four Tet Fans (40,000 plays in under 9 hours!) very excited. Nova is a blissfully atmospheric offering from two British maestros thats fittingly laid back enough to enjoy just as the sun starts to emerge from those winter shadows. Just about perfect.
