Within today’s creative industry the conceptual meaning of innovation and design is consistently evolving as company strive to win over the consumer market with items that strive to capture the imagination. Whilst this becomes increasingly tough for a progressively savvy consumer market without innovation there would be no competition, a characterisation that permeates through all creative industries and makes us at AboutToBlow more intent on exhibiting on our pages than ever before.
With innovation in mind we are privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of one of the UK’s most illustrious trade shows as the critically-acclaimed Designjunction prepares to host its fifth edition at two new central London locations for four nights of international cutting-edge design on display.
The showcase is set to deliver an unrivalled experience – making it central London’s leading destination for contemporary design and with well over 100 leading international design brands set to exhibit it’s assured to be the most important global meeting point during the London Design Festival.
As accustomed with each edition, designjunction have been working towards curating an experience that explores and celebrates the stellar line-up on brands involved with an all-encompassing show that includes live workshops and flash-factories, one-off collaborations, hundreds of new product launches, inspiring installations and delectable food.
This years revelries will take place at The College, formerly home to Central Saint Martins and the striking event space Victoria House B1, both located on Southampton Row. The College will be designjunction’s leading space for it’s international cutting-edge contemporary design brands – and many product launches. In keeping with the building’s distinguished design history, designjunction will take over five impressive floors of the spectacular Lethaby building as well as other stunning spaces within the campus.
In keeping with the celebratory side AboutToBlow will be curating bespoke playlists alongside this year’s sponsors Artcoustic, the award-winning design-led loudspeakers from Demark, for four of the show’s key area’s as we seek to combine the best in new music with design and sound as we bring a original ‘theme’ to each room.
With shows held annually worldwide during the London Design Festival, Salone del Mobile, Milan and NYCxDesign, New York, we will be exploring sounds from producers and artists on an international scale with the very best in electronica, soul, jazz and hip-hop inspired future beats taking focus over the shows duration.
