Following the release of his 16 track ‘My Tings Foreign’ album, North London artist Dun D is back – This time showcasing two fresh productions from the release of his upcoming EP.
Having previously teamed up with the likes of Fuse ODG, Sneakbo and Kojo Funds, Dun D collaborates with George The Poet and Tiggs Da Author on ‘Royalty’, a luscious and melodic track tinged with rich summer vibes and Caribbean steel-drum sounds.
Displaying his dynamic diversity across the release, the single is stark contrast to the more downtempo tones found on ‘Only Round My Way’. Working with Wretch 32 on the latter, the track fuses crisp reggae sounds with smooth R&B influences, and raw, emotional lyrics.
Best known for 2017’s ‘Winter’ and 2016’s ‘Can I Get Your Number’, Dun D continues to cement his reputation as one of the fastest rising talents on the scene, fusing elements of grims, bashment and hip-hop, with tracks like ‘Holiday’ supported by BBC Radio 1xtra, and Dun D’s ‘Badman’, (featuring Kojo Funds and Sneakbo), viewed over one million times, gaining the backing of KISS, Capital Xtra and Reprezent.
After selling out his headline show in 2017, Dun D has moved on to work with artists across Europe (Aden, BKO) and Africa (Killbeats, Kwesi-Aurther, B4bona Streetbeatz), whilst also opening a music studio in North London. The studio is responsible for chart topping hits from artists such as Fredo, Tion Wayne, Hardy Caprio and many more, also creating an organisation (Music Rise) that helps, mentors up and coming artists from deprived backgrounds with hopes to find and sign the next rising star.
Appearing on the Morgan Keyz #UKRapShow on Rinse FM last summer, delivering a widely acclaimed freestyle, Dun D’s new releases precede his new 8-track EP, which is set to drop later this year.
