The Enigmatic Musician Returns with a Unique, Avant-Garde Pop Single.
Known for his leftfield, nuanced approach to making music – Birmingham native WEIRDO returned earlier this year with his alt-pop anthem ‘Eurotrash’. The single was revered among music press for it’s totally unique approach to songwriting and production and now, the art-pop creator has returned with another gem.
As an artist, WEIRDO made his name with a demo track that was featured by prominent YouTube channel Majestic Casual. From there, he went on to support from the worldwide music press, Radio 1 and plenty more. He then suffered a catastrophic writers block, leading to a few years of the normal life and a lack of inspiration.
Now though, he’s back and pushing out banger after banger. Support on the last single came from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Amazing Radio, a slot in Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Pop playlist, and online outlets such as Vice, Complex, EARMILK. We can only see the same from his new single ‘Fakin’, a truly unique hybrid of pop, electronic and indie from a serious rising talent.
As he explains: “Fakin’ is a song I wrote about the world we live in, the people that surround us and the complexities of the modern age. I spent way too much time with and around materialistic people who were in denial of it and once I spent some time alone in thinking mode, I realised that honesty seems a thing of the past for many people nowadays…”
