To date there is not a huge wealth of information out there about Tom Wrankmore (otherwise known as Eliphino). But for what we do know, he hails from the UK’s bassline hub of Leeds and has since opted for pastures new after setting up shop in the capital and is without doubt going to progress into one of the household names of Future House and Garage production if he continues in the same vein as he’s began.
A self proclaimed “purveyor of the finest vibrations” his style has progressed somewhat from his earliest material (dating back to the days of 2007) having since developed a sound reminscent of fellow Londoner Joy O judging from the prime form he’s been in over recent months. Having released the masterfully euphoric ‘Let Me Love You’ through Giles Peterson’s acclaimed Brownswood Recordings and with a clutch of other worthy releases to coincide, fast forward to October and Eliphino may have just veered himself into the big time judging from his forthcoming EP and its leading track, the underground House infused banger ‘More Than Me’.
An unashamedly deep, head bopping number, the sampling here will most likely engrain itself inside your head therefore making it impossible to not come back to for one more play. An addictive track with definite Garage undertones, ‘More Than Me’ aclimatises itself perfectly into the current UK Electro scene with producers increasingly merging elements of house, garage, grime and funky together in an effortless manner. There’s no doubt this one will drop across Dancefloor’s in the not too distant future, seriously big vibes.
Getting its release on October 31st through Some Think Sounds, Eliphino is very much a name to remember for 2012.
