Eton Messy Presents – Dimensions Launch Party Motion, Bristol
A world away from the tepid temperatures of Fort Punte Christo and it’s a cold night in Bristol. It’s Friday the 5th of April and Eton Messy have set up shop in the Motion SkatePark to officially put the word ‘Dimensions’ into our mouths with a sell out night in one of Bristols hottest underground clubs. This venue is truly unique, an old skatepark conjoined with a network of warehouses – Motion brings an experience you wont be forgetting anytime soon.
Krystal Klear has just wrapped up another two hours in his typical fashion, blending a number of genres from over the past 20 years into something that’s guaranteed to fill the floor, making way for Eliphino to step up and continue to rattle the foundations of every building on Avon street. With a full capacity and the atmosphere already near climax, he decides to slow things down before the finale with a brief 100bpm interlude before heating things up with that characteristic blend of house and garage we have all come to love.

These two headliners are nothing to be sniffed at. Having both played at last years Dimensions, you can’t help but notice the excitement with which they play their tracks in the packed room one of possible Dimensions goers. If anyone was in doubt about the legitimacy of this up and coming festival then these two ambassadors have surely banged the last nail into the coffin and shipped it to Croatia.
Eliphino had his last release on Somethink Sounds this time last year and his tracks ‘VRYBDY’ and ‘Don’t Make Sense’ have paid testament to his ever evolving sound. Having experimented with house and garage formats, it seems he may be venturing into the HipHop/R&B end of the scale with the tint on these two.

Krystal Klear on the other hand is on the other end of the scale. His latest release on Rinse – ‘Addiction’ ft. Jenna G is a hot slice of feel good deep disco. Teaming up with the infamous vocalist Jenna G has paid clear dividend on this track that seems to ooze a certain vintage attitude.

As festival season approaches, it’s time to start thinking about which have the most to offer. When it comes to Croatia, the newly acclaimed holy land of underground digital music, there’s a fresh name shuffling up along side the already established Outlook in the form of Dimensions. Having established themselves on the oversea festival scene with a blinding debut last year, their selection of artists this time around has solidified their place on the calendars of most people in the know when it comes to the underground sounds of the ever growing dance music movement.
