RUNNING WILD HALLOWEEN SPECIAL w/ CATZ N DOGZ, DARK SKY, DEADBOY, TOYBOY & ROBIN
Running Wild Halloween Special
Friday 1st November Electric Brixton Town Hall Parade, London SW2 1RJ 10pm-6am
This November 1st Running Wild bring a Halloween spectacular and all out mini-festival experience to the Electric Brixton, presenting mind-melting production and an uncompromising lineup that spans the likes of Catz N Dogz, Dark Sky, Deadboy, Toyboy & Robin, plus a very special guest yet to be announced.
Set to transform the stunning Electric Brixton Gottwood Festival head up the production to create a haunted forest and frightful utopia, positioning Running Wild’s Friday night ghoul-fest as much more than a typical Halloween club night. This is hard on the talent, but even bigger on the experience. Serving a lineup that nods to the very best across a delectable spectrum of house, garage, bass and everything in between, they invite you to explore their theatre festival with live graffiti from Secret Walls, an Oxfam fancy dress stall, face painting, scary dancers and a haunted house – it’s the full spirit of Halloween!
Recent Essential mixers and head honchos of Pet Recordings, Catz N Dogz have been in a music partnership for over ten years. The duo’s refreshing take on dancefloor music has seen them release on the brightest underground labels such as, Crosstown Rebels, Dirtybird, Pokerflat, Get Physical, Trapez and more. At the beginning of the year they released the second installment of their compilation series with the album ‘Friends Will Carry You Home Too’ on their own label, which has debuted the likes of Eats Everything’s ‘Entrance Song’ and curated remixes from Maceo Plex, Axel Boman and KiNK. Their sets are catagory-free and full of surprises, making them the perfect headliner for Running Wild’s Halloween Special.
Touching on the darker, bassier tip DJ trio Dark Sky dare to be experimental and bring the eerie atmosphere in full force. Their diverse and multi-textured quality releases have garnered them production kudos and success on Ninja Tune, Pictures Music, Black Acre and Modselektor’s 50 weapons imprint, drawing influences from original UK garage through to house, via drum & bass and hip hop. Numbers regular Deadboy is an inescapable production force in London’s melding worlds of bass, garage, and house music. The mystery man is known for his Halloween mixes, which have been described as a ‘dystopian nightmare where heavily bearded disco svengalis, codeine addled rappers, and unbalanced London grime producers are stalking you on the night bus home.’ Expect similar this November 1st.
Raised on a healthy diet of Garage and 90’s RnB & Hip Hop, Toyboy & Robin started gaining admirers early last year when they released the ‘Loving You’ EP and they are a Running Wild favourite. The Cool Kid Music owners have had a series of epic free downloads that have showcased the duo’s uncanny ability to inject soul into the UK bass sound. They’re joined by Gottwood’s very own eLDOKO, who recently signed to Bristol’s Real Nice Records and fuses the gaps between all things Jazz, Swing, Tech and House. Not to mention support from Jigsaw, Naked Jake, Larry Sun, Krywald and the resident SK!NT DJs. With another act still to be announced it’s shaping up to be a veritable zombie feast of DJ talent.
Combined with the acclaimed and unique Gottwood Festival production and attention to detail, that will see the Electric Brixton lit up with trippy visuals and psychotic lazers in a spooky dream-like setting. Aiming to cross the blurred boundaries of dance music, Running Wild has made a quick reputation for their individual parties that have taken them from warehouses to rooftops, Ibiza and festival stages. This Halloween, they transport you into a spine-chilling Halloween scene and full-throttle party that’s not to be missed.
