The East London Producer Returns..
Following on from the critically acclaimed single ‘Weeks of Rain’, FNP drags himself out of his comfort zone on a nuanced, breakbeat techno gem in the form of new single ‘Tension’. Built on a foundation of old-school, amen break samples – It’s a track that continues his vintage, synthwave style with an analogue melodic line that’s instantly memorable. Channeling the sounds of AbouttoBlow favourites such as Bicep, Hammer and Legowelt
Building a fierce reputation online, FNP has been attracting a lot of the right attention with his unique take on techno, synthwave and electronica. In the past year, he’s gained support from Thump Magazine, Clash, Datatransmission, Dummy Magazine, Les Yeux Orange and Complex, as well as consistent support from Spotify’s editorial team. He’s also picked up support from EDM giant Deadmau5, on his own personal gaming playlist.
The new single is a potent, breakbeat weapon that’s perfectly suited for the rave environment we’re all missing so drastically. Speaking on the new single, FNP states:
“Tension really was just a melodic idea that was born from playing around with some analogue gear. The lead synth was created and from there the whole thing came together really nicely! I wanted to have a bit of a throwback feel to it so I used amen break samples to create the drums which I feel worked a treat.”
