So after over 2 years of waiting for a follow up to BTSTU, Jai Paul is back with Jasmine. As Mount Kimbie posted on Twitter ‘Love it when someone just nails it.’
BTSTU came out to a stunned crowd two years ago and gained huge hype and popularity being sampled by the likes of Beyonce and Drake. Pushing the London producer into the mainstream with Zane Lowe who initiated the debut into his prestigious ‘Hottest Record in the world’ club.
As a side note check out the Nu-Direction remix of BTSTU for some chilled liquid DnB.
The only other work to really surface was his remix of ‘Jungle Drum’ by Emiliana Torrini.
So after all the hype Jai Paul is back with ‘Jasmine’ which is a chilled headbopper, featuring the same high whispery vocals as did BTSTU and a flickering bass line.
Very nice indeed, but we want more!
Jasmine is great but we don’t want to have to wait ages for more work, is Jai Paul the music industries big tease? We hope not, through all of his releases it clear to see he could do great things.
