We headed down to New Shapes at Nottinghill Arts Club to check out what the buzz surrounding Kyiki was all about, and she lived up to all expectations.
The venue was wall to wall packed which is always a healthy impression to make as you enter. As Kyiki took to the stage she fronted the cool washed-out, LA visuals on the big screen behind her which added to that aura Kyiki brings, an aura of ‘cool’, alternative R&B that you almost can help but vibe to. Performing with a full band with drummer, guitar and bass behind was incredibly refreshing to see as many up and coming R&B starts are usually placed with a microphone and a DJ so this live element ticked the boxes with the music heads.
Fan favourite “Black Light” was the standout of the night but Kyiki also performed her new release “Here For” and equally impressed the audience who were almost lulled into a trance with her vocals. Kyiki, wild and elegant on the mic, rocked th stage and left no audience member dissatisfied. With a Nottinghill Arts club crowd who were really feeling it, this performance will have earn Kyiki many a new fan in the vicinity and further impressed all existing Kyiki converts.
Dope vocals, vibey visuals and a live band – you can’t go wrong.
