Manchester-born talent Layfullstop has dropped brand-new single ‘Act Right’, out 14th September.
Harnessing a smooth, bossa nova R&B vibe, ‘Act Right’ pairs slick, downbeat production with Layfullstop’s effortless vocals. Producing the instrumental herself, it showcases Lay’s production skills, and follows on from recent single ‘Building Buildings’, a collaboration with Kzyboost.
With two mixtapes and two EPs under her belt, Layfullstop is an independent artist who has built a name for herself by creating soulful music that melds rap and r&b with a purpose. With her Christian faith as the driving force, her music holds deeper sentiments consisting of realness, hope and hardships. Whilst Lay is no stranger to production, she teases a new seriousness to the craft, elevating her music to higher heights and contributing even more to the eclectic Layfullstop sound.
On its creation, Lay explains: “This song is an evolution of a song I made 6+ years ago and wanted to make it relevant to where I am currently in my journey. I also created this song to merge the uplifting and chilled atmosphere that bossa nova brings with the internal battle of constantly wanting to do the right thing.”
Supported by The Independent, The Line Of Best Fit, GRM Daily, DUMMY, Noctis and The Blues Project to name a few, she previously featured on fellow Mancunians Children Of Zeus’ album Travel Light on ‘Fear of a Flat Planet’ and dropped an acclaimed COLORS broadcast. Having previously headlined London’s Hootenanny and Manchester’s The Yard, looking ahead, she will perform at a PRS Music event in Manchester, with more shows in the pipeline for 2023.
A multi-talented young artist ‘Act Right’ is proof that Layfullstop is one of the most exciting young creatives on the scene right now.
