We love an artist that draws from a number of different musical landscapes to make something truly unique.
That’s certainly the case with Luton-Native, now based in London artist SK. Brought up on a diet of Aretha Franklin, she was always destined to find her way into the contemporary sound of neo-soul. She’s also took a keen interest in Jazz, a genre that resonated with her as she went through more difficult times.
The result of this melting pot of influences, is a two track project. The first single ‘Nostalgia’, wonderfully draws on old keys, groove-rich drums and a clean vocal line. Check it out in full below
“Nostalgia was written when I was in my last relationship, it’s about yearning for the infinite possibilities of the beginning and realising after it was over that the only thing I really had the entire time was those memories”
