Exciting UK singer-songwriter Morgan Munroe has unveiled new single ‘Who The [email protected]#*’, her second single in quick succession, out today.
Exploring themes of empowerment, self-worth and female independence, ‘Who The [email protected]#*’ is an unapologetic anthem that combines witty lyricism with Morgan’s undeniable vocal talents. The track is accompanied by a lo-fi, DIY-style official video which sees Morgan confidently holding court in a house party environment. It follows the seductive ‘Mama Taught Me’, with both tracks set to feature on her forthcoming EP ‘Layers 0.5’, out 13th November.
“‘Who the F’ is about fuck boys,” Morgan explains. “‘Who the F’ is about being unapologetic in saying no. ‘Who the F’ is about knowing your worth as a woman. ‘Who the F’ is about owning your environment. ‘You tryna sell the world to me, I just wanna get a drink at the bar’ is my favourite lyric!”
Hailing from Leicester, Morgan first emerged onto the scene last year when she lent her vocals to ‘Last Night’, the Kamakaze single that featured on the FIFA 20 soundtrack and has since racked up 4 million views.
This year she has taken full advantage of the lockdown period, participating and winning Instagram Live competitions by #HardestBars (twice) and Stefflon Don / Pretty Little Things, as well as being a highlight on DJ Target’s ‘BBC 1Xtra Instagram Live’. She then won £7500-worth of home studio equipment in an SBTV competition, which she later used to record her most recent EP ‘Stay Home Studio Vol. 1’.
With empowerment at its core, ‘Who The [email protected]#*’ is a sensual track with real substance.
