A project full of funk guitars and smooth synth elements
Rose Rose’s “Eye to Eye” EP is a tribute to the music that shaped their teenage years, reinterpreted through a modern alt-pop lens. The project was composed between Paris and London, where Samuel and Pierre drew inspiration from their eclectic musical influences, including funk, disco, and synthwave.
Despite their preference for privacy during the final production stages, the duo involved friends and family in the early composition stages of standout tracks “Charlotte” and “Sky Queen”. This collaborative approach adds a personal touch to the EP and reinforces Rose Rose’s belief in the importance of community in music-making.
“Eye to Eye” showcases the duo’s self-taught multi-instrumentalism and diverse range of musical styles. From the soulful lounge pop of “Charlotte” to the nu-disco vibes of “Mustang”, the project is a cohesive and enjoyable listen that has already earned critical acclaim from publications like The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, and Stereofox. Rose Rose’s “Eye to Eye” is a testament to their talent and potential as rising producers in the alt-pop scene.
