The Essex-Based Artist Draws for UK Hip Hop & Grime on New Project
Working alongside producer Tyegreen – Essex-based rapper safenath has been creating some potent UK Hip Hop and grime. Bringing a high level of authenticity to his productions, he’s keen to stay out of boxed musical genres, driving to create music that’s simply defined as unique.
“I would say my music is experimental” he says, “I haven’t found my proper sound yet but I’m trying to fuse everything I grew up on.”
Raised in Chelmsford, Essex as part of a musical family – the rising star was encouraged to learn and discover multiple musical instruments and skills. He soon fell in love with drumming and the intricacies of music production, always developing his flow. Now two projects, the buzzing new artist has released ‘safenath x Y2K’ (2019) and ‘Nath’s House’ (2020). Summer of 2021 sees him launch a new EP. Speaking on the new single, he states:
“SKY BLUE is speaking about moving on from my local area and trying to broaden my horizons. The name SKY BLUE came from a spot me and my boys used to chill at whilst growing up in Chelmsford. I think being one of the youngest in my group made me grow up quick and this track resembles that child-like ignorance and enjoyment of night life at first.”
