The South-Coast Artist Takes Aim at Society in New Single
Working from his studio in the South Coast, producer and songwriter Tom Williams has announced a new album, due 10 years since his first release. A project that aims to discuss and inquire throughout the events of the past 12 months, the new single ‘Follow The Leader’ is a pointed attack on the older generations in power in the UK.
Described by Tom as “an angry swipe at the elders in power that swore they knew best”, the new single takes aim at an older generation of Brits who believe in taking back control and stiff upper lip. It’s a politically driven song, to the backdrop of genuinely classy production. Speaking on the new single he states:
“I swung between total despair and absolute elation during the recording process of this song. Some days it felt new and exciting and other days it felt like I was trying to be something I’m not. I love a lot of different genres of music and a lot of them have never made their way into my own music. I found myself creatively hemmed in by the precedent of a decade of my own music. It took me a while to realise I didn’t need to add to it, I needed to start again.”
The single ‘Follow The Leader’ is out on all DSPs 22nd March – head over to www.tomwilliamsmusic.net to pre-order them album which is out 30th July.
