From growing up in suburban London in a musical family and being apart of a Gambian-based Choir to traveling overseas for his musical career and finding himself with support from Huw Stevens and Jamal Edwards (OBE), Latir has released his latest single “Am I Allowed To Say I’ve Missed You”. Released via Unity records, the new single is inspired by his love for Hip-Hop & RnB and a love for 80’s soul/pop music.
“Am I Allowed To Say I’ve Missed You” is a three minute track that boasts warming sounds, nostalgic drum kits and a chorus that latches on your mind. It’s the type of sound you would expect to hear on your radio during a rainy drive home during rush hour. Written about a recent break up, Latir says “I’ve been through a break up this year… This song acknowledges the fact that our most beautiful moments have passed, but questions whether we’re able to look back and appreciate the good moments we had, rather than acting like they never happened… Vulnerably so, questioning whether you’re allowed to tell your ex that you miss them? (Is that such a crime? Perhaps… Perhaps not.)”
“Am I Allowed To Say I Missed You” is out now on all streaming platforms.
